FRLN82: The Golden Metrics for Fitness, Money, and Life

Here’s what I believe is the secret to everything you want in life:

What gets measured, gets managed, empowered… and manifested.

I say it all the time, but it’s worth hearing again, and again, and again. Because when I finally got serious about transforming my life, it all started with tracking.

Which is why today you’ll discover:

  • The fitness metric that transforms your body

  • The money metric that makes you a millionaire

  • And the relationship metric that keeps you happily married

Let’s get started…

FIT — The Hidden Metric That Transformed My Body

I used to work out constantly…

Lifting. Running. HIIT. You name it.

But I never looked muscular, and I always felt soft and flabby.

In fact, I hated how I looked until I started tracking the Golden Fitness Metric:

Body Fat %

Total game-changer.

Here’s why:

  • You can be strong and muscular, but still look soft if you’re not lean.

  • You can exercise daily, but if you’re not measuring food intake vs. calories burned, you won’t see progress.

Why?

Because you haven’t learned to feel what progress looks like. Most people spend most of their lives focusing on feeling comfortable. But when fitness becomes your new normal, you need to get used to how that feels.

Which is why body fat percentage is the golden fitness metric.

The lower it goes (in a healthy way), the more shredded you look — and the better your body performs. And when I got serious about tracking it, that’s when I started the kind of results I thought were only possible through “genetics”.

And I like to think of this in tandem with my financial health, too.

My golden fitness metric is like the inverse of my golden money metric.

I keep my golden fitness metric low, and my golden money metric high, and that’s the surefire secret to a Fit Rich Life.

RICH — The Number That Made Me A Millionaire

The way it works with fitness is the same for money.

When I first started earning $50k, then $75k, I still felt broke. More money was coming in… but even more was going out.

I was secretly $80,000 in debt and 6 years behind on taxes.

Meanwhile, I was drowning in stress and pretending everything was fine.

Then I discovered the most important number you need to know to become a Millionaire. I like to call it the Golden Money Metric.

Your Savings Rate

I started tracking it, I started optimizing it…

And each month, I’d measure:

  • How much of my income am I keeping?

  • How much am I putting into wealth-building assets?

  • How fast am I moving toward financial freedom?

And the more I increased that number, the more excited I got, the more I increased my net worth, and the faster I achieved financial freedom.

And now?

I’ve got more than $3.2M dollars earning interest, paying my bills, making me richer… all using a simple system that I’m sharing with you this week in the course:

Investing Mastery: Your Path to Millionaire

Here’s the truth…

Most people don’t have an income problem; they have a measuring problem.

If you don’t know your savings rate… You can’t grow your wealth.

But once you start tracking it, wealth-building becomes fun (and even addictive).

LIFE — A Weekly Ritual To Keep My Marriage Thriving

I’ve learned something powerful about relationships:

People don’t grow apart because they change. They grow apart because they stop growing together.

That’s why every year on our anniversary, my wife and I renew our vows.

This last weekend was our 4th wedding anniversary… and we took that opportunity to reflect on what’s changed, remove anything that’s outdated, and update anything that was missing from our original vows.

That way, we can recommit to what matters most.

Right here, right now.

The way I see it, vows are just another type of mental, physical, and spiritual programming. If you want them to stay relevant and bug-free, they need regular updating.

And like I said, with your fitness and your money…

When you’re just getting started, you need a way to measure your progress until you get used to how it feels to operate outside of your comfort zone.

So for the first 6 months of our marriage, I did something a little crazy…

Every Sunday, I’d ask my wife:

“On a scale of 1–10, how did I do as a husband this week?”

If she said anything less than a 10, I’d follow up with:

“What can I do to get a 10 next week?”

Now — important caveat — if you want to try this:

DO NOT offer to rate your partner's performance.

This is about your growth, not a two-way scorecard. (If they want feedback, cool. But don’t make it mutual by default.)

That simple ritual alone… asking, listening, and committing to improvement has made a huge difference in the success of our marriage.

Because what gets measured, gets managed, empowered… and manifested.
